This year, facing the impact of uncertainties such as the global COVID-19 epidemic, Guangdong, as The largest province in China's foreign trade, have been actively building a gateway hub for high-level opening-up and promoting high-quality development of foreign trade.

The new foreign trade routes of Guangzhou Port has reached 6 in June, the first half of the accumulated 13 new foreign trade routes .

Guangdong's import and export value with other member states accounted for about 30% of Guangdong's total import and export value. The foreign trade circle continues to expand, and Guangdong's trade facilitation level has been comprehensively improved. A number of ports in Guangdong have launched the "combined port" mode, which makes ports belonging to different customs areas look like one port, enabling cargo exports to embark on the "fast track".

Zhu Youqing, Chief of The Third Supervision Department of Zhongshan Port Customs said, (Zhongshan Port) under the mode of "combined port", goods only need one declaration, one inspection and one release. After arriving at Shekou port, they can be directly transferred to large international sailing ships for export, greatly reducing the customs clearance time.

So far, Guangdong's overall import and export clearance time has been reduced by 81% and 94%, respectively, compared with 2017.

Cross-border e-commerce and other new forms of foreign trade are creating a new engine for high-quality development of Guangdong's foreign trade. In the first half of this year, Guangdong added 8 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test zones, a total of 21, realizing the full coverage of Guangdong province, and built more than 300 overseas warehouses with an area of more than 2 million square meters. Guangdong has 11 comprehensive bonded zones, forming a diversified development pattern of bonded logistics, bonded maintenance and so on. From January to May, the import and export volume of Guangdong's comprehensive bonded zones increased by 29.6% year on year, strengthening their role in stabilizing foreign trade.

Statistics show that from January to May, Guangdong's foreign trade volume reached 3.21 trillion yuan, accounting for 20 percent of the country's total import and export value during the same period, firmly ranking first in the country.
